Honda Access announced on April 16, 2026 that genuine accessories for the new passenger EV called the Insight would go on sale from April 17 through Honda Cars dealers across Japan.
Accessories Designed to Support Everyday EV Life
The central theme of the new accessories lineup is support for charging and power supply in day-to-day EV ownership. One of the main products is the Honda EV Charger, a cable-integrated home charging unit that uses a general household AC 200V supply. Its maximum 6 kW output is double the 3 kW level common among ordinary charging cables, which shortens charging time and helps create a more comfortable charging environment at home.
Honda Access is also offering the AC external power supply device called the Honda Power Supply Connector, which allows the Insight’s drive battery to provide AC 100V power. Alongside that, it has prepared a port-lid cover intended to help protect the charging port area during charging or power supply use. These items are designed to support both ordinary use and emergency situations.
Environmental Consideration and Cabin Utility
The new accessory program also pays attention to environmental impact. Honda Access says it uses sustainable materials in several items, including floor carpet mats and body-cover related products. The floor mat line uses recycled or lower-impact materials while maintaining a premium appearance and daily usability.
Beyond the charging equipment, the lineup extends into practical daily-use items for the exterior and interior. The company is preparing utility accessories such as door visors, door-handle protection film, wheel center caps, floor mats, and a luggage tray. In addition, ETC 2.0 equipment is listed among the available convenience items.
Main Accessory Categories
The accessory range is organized broadly into charging and power-supply items, exterior items, interior items, and utility items. The charging group is clearly the headline of the launch, but Honda Access is positioning the full package as a way to make ownership of the new Insight easier and more comfortable in both normal and exceptional situations.
In other words, this is not just a decorative accessory release. It is a practical support program built around the idea that an EV should be easier to charge at home, easier to use as an emergency power source, and easier to live with every day.
